Mother's Day

Many people asked how my mother's day was, concerned for the mixed emotions it could hold for me. To be honest, I had a really wonderful day. Robbie let me sleep in and when I woke up he was already preparing the grand feast for the evening. He kept the menu secret as long as he could, and was enjoying being prep chef and Grand Chef, all day. Small help was accepted by both dads (mine and his), but moms were not allowed to lift a finger. I literally sat on the deck most of the day, enjoying my kids, and visiting with my mom, Zelma and my girlfriend Jean. My grandma came by, also, and got to enjoy our mother's day feast.
THE MENU:
Appetizers included Pretzels with a delicious sweet and spicy mustard for dipping
Chicken wings, marinated in Rob's own sauce :-)
Spinach artichoke dip, baked till bubbly and brown on top

Salad of mixed greens with peaches, toasted pecans, avocado and tomato
honey mustard and blue cheese dressings

Main course was an amazing beef tenderloin, served with grandpa's homemade ancho chili sauce
Baked potatoes with all the trimmings (except chives, of course :-))
Bacon wrapped asparagus bundles
Brown-sugar glazed carrots
Sparkling apple cider to drink and

Dessert? Chocolate fondue with strawberries, pineapple and pound cake for dipping.
Absolutely incredible.

You really outdid yourself, Rob !
Thank you, honey, for such a special day.
