My Sweet and Spicy Boy

I took Daniel out for his 5 year old photoshoot. When I posed this idea to Daniel, I totally did not expect he would latch onto it as he did. He usually hides from my camera, or makes horrid faces at me, with an evil twinkle in his eye. Very Spicy! But he liked the idea of a date, and of me getting special pictures to celebrate him being 5. He even had specific ideas about the shoot and where we should go. He said he wanted to go to a field with dirt and lots of grass. When I pressed him, he specified--"with lots of grass, like a meadow (huh?!), but also some dirt..."
okay, so I started out in my location, downtown Edmonds, where we finished with a Tully's hot chocolate and latte. Then we headed to the trail around the golf course where we've often walked as a family. He was thrilled when we arrived and he saw "lots of grass AND dirt!!" he was very excited.
we had lots of fun, but I came home thinking that I had no business calling myself a children's photographer, I couldn't even get good pictures of my own (very busy) son!! He was more than happy to let me snap away, but intended to make me work for my shots!! I got lots of pics of his back, believe me!! however, I was pleasantly surprised to find I'd gotten more than a couple that I really liked. Enjoy!!
